ChessVision_CoverThumbCHESS VISION

This book has been created to help develop an important chess skill – chess vision, the ability to see ahead in chess. However, it is not a book on tactics or calculation, it is to be used to train your mind’s eye to see what the chess position will be several moves ahead. Many players could find a move if the position was on the board in front of them but in a real game they have to look ahead and see if the combination or move will be possible. This book gives tips and techniques and then 20 chess masterpieces to play through and practice on, each one packed with questions about a future position. Train with this book and you will improve your tactical accuracy, reduce blunders and absorb some of the finest moves, ideas, combinations and games ever played! (Available in Paperback and for the Kindle)

ChessVision_CoverCE_thumb CHESS VISION – Checkmate EditionVisit Site

Another title that will really improve your ability to ‘see ahead’, as well as familiarise yourself with some fantastic checkmates played out by the 15 World Champions! The book contains diagrams of chess positions and asks you to play between 1 and 15(!) moves ahead then find the mate in 1. It starts off easy with some of Wilhelm Steinitz’ games but steadily increases as you play through nearly 400 games over 150 years – all with the checkmate delivered by a World Champion.

The progressive difficulty level means there is something here for all levels – remember the idea is to train and improve, to go beyond your current level, so when it starts getting tougher, that’s when you’re going to get the most benefit.

Featuring over 800 diagrams (some have multiple solutions) this is sure to keep you going for a long time – and it’s great fun too!

Welcome to 365 Killer Checkmates – a training ground for your skill in finishing off your opponent. Each one of the positions given is taken from a real game so you can be sure that being able to find these checkmates will serve you well in your own games.
We have 365 positions so you can train daily for a year although it is always tempting to do many more in one go! No problem – there are so many puzzles here that you can return to them again and again.
From the spectacular Queen sacrifice to the seemingly innocuous King move, the opponent will be snared in an inescapable mating net time and again with some of the greatest artists ever to sit at a chessboard showing how it’s done.
From Paul Morphy to Petrosian, Fischer to Kasparov and Anand to Carlsen, the top players have always known how to checkmate in style and I hope you will have great fun in finding the powerful moves too.
Enjoy!

Available in paperback and Kindle versions (you do not need a Kindle device as free readers are available for PCs, Macs and smartphones.)
